A New Painting

Here is something new for me, a painting that is pretty big - about a metre high. This has popped up a few times in my facebook posts, and now I think it is finally finished. Here are some closeups:

So now I have put together all the paintings I have done this past year and realise it has built up to quite a few, and now I am ready to let them go. I have been selling limited edition prints of my work, but if anyone is interested in purchasing an original, I am soon going to setup a section in my big cartel shop with paintings for sale. I will post more about this soon!

W.I.P's

I am working on a new set of paintings, this time trying out a new method to begin them.

I like to start without a plan and work in layers, the first few layers are done with no control - it then takes its own shape and I work with what is on the page. I love how the finished painting looks nothing like how it started, because it feels as if it has grown on its own.

I have started an album on my facebook page showing the work in progress:

New Painting

This painting is larger than it appears, so I have included below a photo showing the scale (with one of my favourite opshop-found pieces of furniture!)...

...and here are some closeups showing the detail...

New Painting

Here is a painting I recently finished. It makes me think of the conversation and ideas that come up over a cup of coffee (and I do love a good coffee!)

~Coffee Break~

When I began this painting I had no idea what I was going to do, and it changed a lot -
so below is the work in progress:

I have also finished 7 small paintings, soon to be posted. Also I have almost finished a mural:

The photo is not too good, I took it in the afternoon with the sun shining on it. Unfortunately it doesn't capture the perfect day... sunshine, music and cold beverage I was enjoying while doing it!
The wall that the mural is on  is next to an outdoor bath in a lovely plant-filled courtyard :)

Being Navigator

I was very happy to find out this morning that the little painting I submitted to the Wall of Contemporary Art (WoCA) Eco Art Competition had been selected as the winning entry!

The Eco Shop in the Fremantle Markets has the smallest gallery space in Fremantle - the WoCA. It is currently hosting a 10 round art competition with some fantastic prizes to be won. The theme for Round 1 was Water, and I named this painting "being navigator".

IF : Scattered

If you are familiar with my blog, you may have seen this painting before... from my little pictures series.

I have been a bit busy lately, so must apologise for neglecting my blog, and cheating for this weeks Illustration Friday topic by reposting!

I will not be forgetting to post a desktop Calender for November, so look out for that!
